GDS 6th grader Anjali hosted a virtual fundraiser 对于 打印到保护* that featured a live dance session with alum Jason "The TikTok Doc" Campbell ’07. 中学 students learned a TikTok dance challenge with Jason and then participated in a Q&A with the Oregon-based anesthesiologist. Jason, whose viral dance videos with his healthcare professional colleagues have been featured on Good Morning America and on dozens of other prominent news outlets, often reminds viewers of the importance of taking his work seriously but never taking himself too seriously (see full GDS interview). In her introduction and at the conclusion of the fundraiser, Anjali reminded 中学 participants that donations to 打印到保护 must be their own money and that parents could only facilitate the donation.

Anjali was thrilled with the number of community members who joined in support of 打印到保护.
During the Q&A, Jason “emphasized the importance of family and togetherness, especially in these times.” Anjali said. “He also talked about valuing the GDS community. Also, something that is near and dear to my heart was his answer on how participating in Community Production still influences his life today! He said that 社区 Production taught him to share the stage and to always be yourself.”

The fundraiser raised approximately $400 对于 打印到保护. Participants noted how great it was to “have a little fun and dance during these times.”

Director of the Office of 社区 Engagement and Experiential Learning Jeremy Haft said, "We're so proud of Anjali! Her leadership and vision were critical to making this important event happen. Jonah Docter-Loeb ’20 and the whole 打印到保护 team are so appreciative!"
